Interest Groups

 

Arts & Crafts

Chair: Karen Long 272-6497

 

Members meet on the second Wednesday of each month to work on individual or group craft projects. They enjoy making simple projects that can be completed during one or two sessions.

 

 

Book Club

Chair: Julie Koslow 291-7454

 

Those who like to discuss the books they’ve read will enjoy the Book Club. Members select books for everyone to read and then take turns hosting or facilitating the monthly discussion sessions.

  

 

Bunco

An excuse to enjoy an evening of food, drink, and conversation, bunco is the group for those who like to socialize. The group meets monthly at members’ homes.

 

Family Focus

This group is for families interested in good old-fashioned fun. Possible activities include bowling, miniature golf, go-carting, boat rides, horseback riding, and hayrides.

 

Games Night (Adult)

For those interested in games like Trivial Pursuit, Tribond, and Balderdash, this is the group to join. Members take turns hosting the group, which meets on a Friday night, and everyone brings an appetizer or dessert to share.

 

Games Night (Family)

This is the family version of games night. Bring a munchie and the kids for a fun evening of games for both young and old. As with the adult version, members take turns hosting the event.

 

Gourmet Dining Group

The Gourmet Dining Group consists of four or five couples who take turns hosting and planning dinners throughout the year. This is a great way to make new friends and try new recipes.

 

Ladies’ Night Out

This is a women-only group that usually meets on a Monday night. Typical activities are dinner or a movie.

 

Moms and Tots

Chair Position Open

 

Members provide friendship to develop a caring and supportive atmosphere for parents and children. The group usually meets once a week and plans several special events throughout the year.

 

 

Restaurant Dining Group

Rotating Chair

 

This is the perfect group for those who enjoy eating gourmet food, but not preparing it. Members of this group get the opportunity to try new restaurants as well as make new friends.

 

Scrapbooking

This group provides an opportunity to get together with friends to work on creative scrapbooks and photo albums. Working as a group helps members pick up new ideas for their projects.

 

 

Tennis, Indoor

Chair: Carolyn Nagle 498-4737

 

Members of Northbrook Community Club may enjoy a reduced membership fee at the Northbrook Racquet Club. League play, lessons, parties, free baby-sitting, sauna, and whirlpool are available.
